Now that the weather is finally cooling down it's time to turn on those fireplaces! Watch this video to see how!!
Want to start your fireplace? Or maybe you need to relight the pilot in a gas fireplace?
At the beginning of the summer we showed you how to turn off your fireplace so that the pilot wasn't on unnecessarily. Watch that video here: https://youtu.be/pxGhF3E_dqg
Now that the weather is finally turning colder and we are officially in the fall season, we will show you how to light a gas fireplace, including how to get that pesky pilot light back on.
And remember, at any point that you smell a strong gas smell, leave the house and call a professional. Better safe than sorry!

While this is a great TEMPORARY fix, we don't recommend leaving a fence like this indefinitely!
Here's a general guideline, if the stake has had time to weather (turn gray) then it's time to just fix the fence.
New video this week, and just in time for movie night this weekend! Check it out!
New special feature or problem? That's for you to decide!
Make sure you check on your sprinklers at least once a month to make sure no heads have busted or pipes are leaking or water is spraying where it shouldn't. While a system on a timer is nice, you really should NOT "set it and forget it"!!
It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for a video! We actually learned this trick while working in property preservation. It's quite handy!
The rain might not be the only water you are hearing today! We often find plumbing leaks in crawl spaces, which is why we crawl under houses whenever possible. If your home is old enough to have a crawl space, odds are good you need to check your pipes for leaks and other issues.
As always, give us a call or send us a message if you have any questions or concerns!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another video!!
The heat might have been getting to Gabe a little.
When I was a teacher we learned how to use a file folder for many different things, only some of which involved filing papers. 😆
One of those was as a wall pocket. Sure you can buy pre-made ones that are fancier, but what’s the fun in that! This will get the job done for practically free and I get to feel industrious at the same time. Woohoo!
1. Cut the bottom along the middle folds about 1” from each side.
2. Fold back the edge on the front flap on each side.
3. Fold that edge again, accordion style.
4. Staple front flap in place creating a pocket
5. Staple to wall or bulletin board as needed.
Similar to Facebook, only useful
This is a great place to find interesting pictures, quick little notes, and funny memes. Just like posts you would expect to find on social media. Only these posts are searchable by categories, making this page significantly more useful for reference during a project. Or, just if you don't want to get sucked into the never-ending time-sucking vacuum of the Book of Face. Whichever.
Of course, you can get updates by following us on Facebook too. If you are "in" to that sort of thing.
